Read Time: About 2 Minutes

Our main players...

CEO, founder and ultra chief boss of Burtman.net, @Burtman (that's me).
My main talents are sarcasm, technical writing, photography and cheek.
Since hiring Typewriterman to write articles, I'm mainly just hanging around and trying to look important, while he does all the work.
In my defense, I do look after the servers, sometimes, and I make good tea.

Chief technical writer, @Typewriterman.
A bit of a dork, but a very competent writer with a clear understanding of all the tech junk we need him to know about.
He's revamped a few articles and now he's getting some actual work done, so that's nice.
His main talents are keyboard warfare and being on time for meetings that I schedule and then show up late to.

Ghost-writee (it's a new thing) and supreme master of sidekicks, @Byron.
He's meant to be in charge of his own little blog, but since he's really a dog, Typewriterman's secretly writing and reworking his articles. Since being born, he's mostly been sponging off me and living the life of Riley. His main talents are generally centered around his incredible cuteness. Freeloader.

Email genius and general manager of nerdcore, @Mailman.
His main area of expertise is understanding the complicated systems that work together to create, scan, manage and disburse mail. He's a bit of a legend. Without mailman, there would only be a fairly crap mailing list and probably some terrible free webmail system. We have a lot to thank him for.

The first chick to get involved in this epic project, burtmanwoman.
She doesn't actually produce any content, but she does intend to, and that's pretty good by my standards. Her main talents are admiring Byron, back-chatting me, and procrastinating. Some day, she may get around to providing her video editing skills, which would make some of my long-planned sections viable.

Our mystery guests...

We are currently trialing some guest writers whose work will soon show up, if it turns out to be any good and they aren't actually spammers. Their details are obscured by their potential superhero names, for the sake of being able to kill them off anonymously and then deny any involvement, should they turn out to be spammers. All their posts are invisible, but will be released if things go well during their trial periods.

Each of our potential superheroes is tasked with a very specific - you could say niche - area of focus - their top skill and talent...

My own cousin, Ray Burtmanson.
His main talent, so far, appears to be forgetting to do his tasks and then jiving me when I attempt to crack the whip. We'll see how that turns out.

Let's just call him "Alan".
He's new, but he shows promise. His main talent is spotting my dumb ass mistakes and correcting them without being a jackass about it. I do appreciate this talent quite a bit. Things going well, he may well be appointed as our new technical editor. Let's not run before we can walk, though; he still needs a superhero name, and he's not getting a profile until he comes up with one.

Would you like to join our little team?

You totally bloody can. We're looking for superheroes to create new content on our main themes. If you have to ask for more information, you're fired.

Fair enough, it does need a bit of work but I know my way round a van.

You'll be forced through our grammar training as part of your boot camp. I'm not going to lie about it. :D

Yeah, might just do! Cheers Burtman!

Depends how good it is. We clearly have a ridiculously high bar. If you're interested, send me a sample of your work, and I'll set you up with authorship.

Awesome! Just browsing new content mate. How much you offering for an article then?

Posted by Burtman on November 12 2025, 02:21 am.

You didn't miss me, lad. What are you doing up at this time, anyway?

Posted by JimboT_296 on November 12 2025, 02:21 am.

Ah, man! Cant believe I missed you by 10 seconds. Might apply for one of these, it sounds like fun working with you lot!
