This project started life as a network build of a popular 80s text-based adventure game called Jacaranda Jim (by Graham Cluley). The project quickly mutated into a collaborative story writing tool and featured original artworks by local designers and atmospheric music and sound fx by Open Road Media (at the time, just an experimental freelancer with no particular name to go by). As the project evolved, it was connected to FTP services to allow artists to upload new work during the creative process, and eventually included book mode, non-player characters, interactive maps, and more, as well as the game's original inventory and cast of friends and foes.
Jacaranda was the first serious project running into a year's development in 2009.
