Read Time: About 1 Minute

I heard that song,
after so much time,
that I never much cared for,
but somehow, it's mine.

It served up a platter
of retro "can't wait"s
from summers of yesterday's
large format plates.

I listened to all of it,
right the way through,
absorbing the atmosphere,
the way that I do.

I felt those old feelings,
like they were still new,
remembering what I would
have said to you.

It was a time machine,
pulling my heart
to a previous life,
I'd forgotten to start.

In the moment, I lost me,
and found an old build,
that I'd neither seen, nor heard,
presumed had been killed.

I was twenty, all over,
and brimming with sun,
and about to embark
on a time that's now done.

How powerful, music,
how deep, it's entrenched,
like it burrows inside you
and puts up a fence.

I couldn't believe I still
knew every word,
after decades of not being
something I'd heard.

And when it was over,
a tear in my eye,
it returned to its grave
and I watched as it died.

"Educational, Inspirational And Very Funny"

I've had the privilege of following Burtman.net, over the years, with all the exciting things it's been adding. I enjoy the stories while sipping endless cups of tea, as I've learned from Burtman. I love diving into his ridiculous scenarios and getting infected by his road trip religion. Everything's accessible and relatable (even technical stuff) and shows how making mistakes leads to learning. I'm inspired by that. I'm always left with a big smile on my face and I always want to return. - Natku
