In my endless quest for new things to do and learn, I have recently taken up the pencil and pad and begun teaching myself to draw. As usual, I have very little to guide me, besides the odd tutorial and the ability to tell when I've done a terrible job. And I've recently received a nice little pad to get going with (thanks, Burtwoman), so I've got no excuses left and have begun.

Since I'm thoroughly obsessed with my best pal and sidekick, Byron The Wonderdog, he has obviously featured in my first outing, sketched in a nice little cafe courtyard, not on a boat.

I'm quite happy with this little pic, because I really don't have any idea what I'm doing and it doesn't stink as bad as I expected it too. :)

And for a little later on, I've been furnished with some jazzy pens and weighty paper. Looking forward to seeing what happens there...
