Once all the battery and solar panel cables are connected, you can go back to the roof and connect the solar panel to the charging cables.

Panel mounted, cables connected, power flowing.

As soon as that connection is made, power will try to flow from the panel. The solar input breaker will prevent that power flow because it is still in the open position, so now you can go back and close it, and you will see power starting to flow into your CC and your battery will begin to charge. That's assuming it's still light outside.

Using a remote monitor can makes life a lot easier, as you can still monitor and program your system while your CC and all those cables are safely tucked away behijd the passenger seat, or wherever you have decided to place them.

A remote console that shows battery and panel stats and allows changing CC settings. Hemp fibers are optional.
