Similar to the Wire Wheel, the nylon wheel is attached to a drill and used to remove paint, glue and other difficult residues or layers, without causing damage to the base material.

Used carefully, you can strip paint with this tool without damaging wood. But if you need to strip paint from a large area, you may find this not to be the most efficient tool for the job. You might try a paint stripper or heat gun instead, depending on your circumstances.
