Synthetic Metal
AKA: Metal Paste, Quick Steel
Toxic if swallowed. Use hand, eye and breathing protection. Bonds to metal and other surfaces quickly and securely. This product includes a dusty substance that may cause severe breathing problems or worse, if inhaled. Will permanently damage clothing and other surfaces. Use slowly and be mindful of the mixture for optimum results.
A pretty reliable way to fill small holes in metal, which can be sanded for painting. This product is good for filling holes you drilled in your metalwork that no longer serve a purpose, such as after removal of a roof rack, solar panel, or other accessory.
Before starting, ensure that you are not in a windy location, where the dust from this product is likely to be blown into your face or someone else's.
To use, find a piece of wood, plastic or other material that you don't mind destroying Ideally, something non-pourous like glass or PVC. Pour a small pile (like a teaspoon) of the dust onto that surface, add two-to-four drops of the solution and begin mixing with the little spatula that comes with the kit.
Make sure you mix thoroughly, so that there is only a paste and no dust or liquid remaining, then scoop up a small amount of the mixture on the provided scoop and apply carefully to the area you want to cover. This stuff dries very quickly, so it's best to use small amounts in order not to waste it.
Depending on the dust:liquid ratio, you may find a stronger of weaker fix, and your drying time can vary significantly. Follow instructions on the package carefully.
Once the mixture is dry, you can add another layer to further build up the hole you are covering, or begin sanding with a fine grit sand paper in order to prepare the area to be painted.
