As a drill attachment, this wheel can be used to grind away at deep rust and thick paint.
Wire wheels with thick wires like this one are better suited to heavy duty applications, where damaging the underlying material is less likely. If you are working on a light duty application, you may prefer a wire wheel with a finer wire gauge, or even sand paper.
