Failing At Backstop Designs
Broken Arrows (Part 2 Of 4)
Updated:
As I progress in this deceptively difficult sport, I'm beginning to occasionally hit the target, which presents a new problem.
You see, arrows, by their very nature, tend to penetrate things. Backstops are no exception, and the problem is getting frustrating.
There seems to be a direct relationship between diminishing suckage and increasing costs. See here, how I demonstrate my point...
Suck level: Maximum
Backstop damage: I can dig it.
Notice it already. It's a big deal for me.
Suck level: High
Backstop damage: Take it easy, brother.
Lost a few tips there. That's dramatic.
Suck level: Diminishing
Backstop damage: Third one this week.
Being clever didn't help.
Making a frame instead of a backstop didn't just allow arrows to pass right through and land in another field, it also didn't account for the fact that a good number of my shots go wide enough to hit the frame.
Took one in the leg.
Time from design to destruction: About 90 minutes.
