About: Burt's Journey

Updated:
One thing I've discovered about van-life is that there's always room for improvement, but you don't know about it until you've lived with it for a while. That's when you start to notice things that could be better. It's with this in mind that I've created this section to document the development of my own build, as it matures and my needs change.
Simply due to a lack of photographs, I'm skipping the first build, where the primary consideration was a bed, and the second, which I actually rather liked, but can't show off. So, starting with Mk3, and running up to the current day, where such things as optimal view-gazing and convenient USB locations are a thing, this section covers the process of building a practical and enjoyable home from a metal shell, re-using and re-purposing whatever is possible.
I've included as much information about my work as possible, so you should be able to adapt anything you like to your own needs, without much trouble. And as soon as I get a bit of time for it, I will be developing and uploading wiring diagrams for all posts that deal with electrical systems.
If you know a thing or two about van builds, and you'd like to pitch in, why not have a look at Write For Burtman.Net ?
