Modern Slavery Statement
Updated:
As a business with an annual turnover of no less than 36 million of something, we're expected to post a modern slavery statement, which details how we are making sure that we're not involved in slavery. Not one to shy away from the big topics, Burtman has asked me to deal with it. So here it is.
Our Commitment To Avoiding Slavery
Slavery comes in many forms and can be less obvious than you might think. It's not all kids digging diamonds at gunpoint. It can be as subtle as a man in a suit demanding 30% of your sweat equity by post, or the continuous increase in living costs that never seem to match the increase in your wages. All of these things result in people working harder for less, and that's slavery.
So, to combat it, we read all contract offers carefully and refrain from filing taxes with warlords and their corporate interests. We only hire real people (no auto-generated content allowed), and we only pay fair rates for their work (no "exposure credits" or BBC-style internships, here), because this helps people to put food on the table for their families. And most of all, we refuse to engage in banking.
These commitments keep our money out of the hands of the criminal gangs who oppress entire nations through fraud and coercion, while allowing us to create original content that people can support if they want to. And while we do make well over a 36 million Squid Game tokens per year, all of that comes from legitimate investments in our brand and product (whatever that is), rather than from the CIA and their data mining projects like Facebook and LinkedIn.
Our anti-slavery game is strong.
We are actively working to find paths through the tax scam and other pyramid schemes, and we will be bringing that information to our Red Pill membership, as it develops.
We are supposedly meant to update this statement every year, but it's going to be the same, so we're not going to bother.
