Standing in a doorway,
watching the clouds break
and waiting for the downpour.
I watched the people run
from train to tram,
from tram to bus,
panicking
for the risk of getting wet.
I smiled
as they rushed, laughed, shrieked and jumped onto platforms,
checking themselves
to see how wet they got.
It's only rain.
And it was brief.
Five minutes, at a stretch.
But I watched,
and the rain came down harder,
until it was done.
And then, it was done.
