Read Time: About 1 Minute

Over the past year, I came to notice a wonderful trend in this country, and while I've missed a few great opportunities to document it, the time came when I could miss no more.

In every village, it seems, someone has tried their hand at the ancient art of carving. As it turns out, it's quite difficult. This, however, has not discouraged the would-be carving community, who proudly display their work on pedestals and plaques. Much to my amusement, the quality of these statues is often on a par with Czech rap, so I've had to start taking pics, in the hope of bringing this exceptional, local ... expressionism? ... to the wider world.

I was going to start labeling these, but I honestly can't figure out who they are meant to be - or indeed, if they are human, animal, plant or fungus. So, I'm just going to drop them on you and let you enjoy them at face value.

And with no further fuss, I present my first specimen.

And since I've been seeking out these wonders, I've also discovered that local graffiti and bands are also well worth a share.

Check this badboy, just for example.

Classic comedy, apparently. Yes, that's a red nose.
