WARNING:
Multimeters can be damaged, or cause damage, if operated incorrectly. Always ensure correct polarity of probes and correct settings for the job at hand. High voltage applications are clearly marked and should not be used for long periods. Check the instructions that came with your meter to ensure safe use.
A multimeter can test circuits for electrical load and resistance, helping to diagnose electrical faults. While there are many functions, you will usually find only one or two useful. To explain all functions here wouldn't be practical. Instead, please see the instructional video below and if needed, check further instructions online.
