Welding in gloves that cannot withstand high temperatures can lead to severe burns. Never weld without all the necessary safety equipment.
A thick pair of gloves that can withstand high temperatures, protecting you from molten metal pieces that are often ejected from the work piece, when welding.
Although these are leather, there now are some excellent non-leather alternatives that are capable of withstanding significantly higher temperatures and also offer cut protection, thanks to fiberglass and kevlar layers.
